Inspiration and entrepreneurship: Alejandro Peña encourages Computer Science students to create their own path

Alejandro Peña (SMR2-2nd grade student) is a young entrepreneur who, at just 17 years old, is already a founding partner of a company with 8 franchises in Spain and hopes to expand to other countries soon. As he defines himself, he is a manager who does not work as a manager, who likes to be close to employees and customers.

This morning, the students of the 1st and 2nd year of the training cycles of the Computer Science and Telecommunications family had the opportunity to listen to an inspiring talk on entrepreneurship by Alejandro Peña, a student of 2nd year of SMR2 (Microcomputer Systems and Networks). Under the slogan ‘Entrepreneurship is for everyone’, Alejandro shared his passion for creating and developing projects, encouraging his classmates to dare to ‘create their own path’.

During his speech, Alejandro launched key messages such as ‘Create your own path’ and do things ‘as you please’, stressing that entrepreneurship has no fixed rules but requires something fundamental: discipline. ‘Discipline is the key to success,’ he said, stressing the importance of effort and perseverance to achieve goals.

He also emphasised the value of teamwork, reminding the audience that nothing would be possible without the people who accompany you along the way, highlighting that the success of any project is in the team.

With this talk, streamed by our Telecommunications students, Alejandro sought to motivate his classmates to explore the world of entrepreneurship, to not be afraid to launch their own projects, and to understand that with passion, discipline and a good team, anything is possible.

Together with his classmates Egoitz Uriarte and Alejandro Peña from SMR2-2º, Martin Leizegi from SMR2-1º and Sendoa Pérez from DAW3-1º, he recently won the prize for the best idea in the biggest STEAM hackathon in the world, the Space Apps Challenge organised by NASA, which under the slogan ‘The sun touches everything’ was held simultaneously in 320 cities in 80 countries around the world, including Urduliz (Bizkaia) along with six other Spanish cities. Urduliz 42 and the Telefónica Foundation have joined forces for the second consecutive year, offering three of the 42 programming campuses as venues to host the event.
