The eighth edition of our “University Orientation Fair” was held today in Somorrostro. Nearly 300 students from the second year of the baccalaureate and second year of higher education cycles visited the 17 stands set up by the different universities in the assembly hall. Throughout the morning, our students gathered information on the degrees they were most interested in at universities both in the Basque Country and the rest of Spain. Subjects, credits, prices, and the possibility of dual training or job opportunities were some of the most recurrent doubts among our boys and girls.

This year, 17 universities or faculties have approached the centre to inform about their offer. Universities in our area such as the University of Deusto, Begoñako Andramari (BAM), Mondragon Unibertsitatea, Digipen-Bilbao, UPV/EHU-Faculty of Sciences, School of Engineering of Bilbao, School of Engineering of Gipuzkoa (Eibar), Faculty of Labour Relations and Human Resources / Social Work, Faculty of Economics and Business, Faculty of Social Sciences and Communication, UNED, IMH-Elgoibar and the Chamber of Commerce, Faculty of Social Sciences and Communication, the UNED, IMH-Elgoibar and the Chamber of Commerce, and others from outside the Basque Country such as the Gimbernat University School of Physiotherapy (Torrelavega), University of Cantabria, European University of Madrid, San Jorge University of Zaragoza, Antonio de Nebrija University (Madrid) and the University of Navarra.

Somorrostro also had its own stand where it informed students about access to university from the higher cycles, validations, etc. so that students in the second year of baccalaureate could also see the vocational training option as a valid path to university.
