FP – Empresa – Universidad: Abriendo nuevos caminos

The Somorrostro Training Centre, in collaboration with Mondragon Unibertsitatea, has organised the conference “FP – EMPRESA – UNIVERSIDAD: ABRIENDO NUEVOS CAMINOS” whose objective was none other than to present to the companies that usually collaborate with Somorrostro the different ways of direct collaboration that exist between the centre and companies, beyond the traditional FCT or “work experience in a company”.

The day was opened by Txema Llano, head of VET at Somorrostro who, after welcoming the participants, gave way to the first speeches, a series of short presentations on subjects such as the new DUAL training, the possibilities of carrying out inter-centre innovation projects and with the participation of companies, the 2+3 experience that allows students to do a higher cycle and a university degree in 5 years and the TKgune programme at Tknika (a centre promoted by the Vice-Ministry of Vocational Training of the Basque Country), the 2+3 experience that allows students to do a higher degree cycle and a university degree in 5 years or the TKgune programme of Tknika (a centre promoted by the Vice-Ministry of Vocational Training of the Basque Government’s Department of Education, whose main objective is research and applied innovation).

José María Canales, Coordinator of the Faculty of Engineering at the Bilbao campus of Mondragon Unibertsitatea, spoke about the experience of more than 20 years working on innovation projects in collaboration with companies and gave way to Imanol Andonegi, PhD from MU and member of the automation and robotics research group, who explained in more detail a practical example of the application of robotics, vision and artificial intelligence in research projects carried out in the industrial fabric of the surrounding area.

Javier Laiseca, director of Somorrostro, was in charge of closing the conference, thanking the people who attended and emphasising the importance of an increasingly close collaboration between vocational training centres and companies.
