The awards ceremony of the fourth edition of the video clip contest “Jazotakoa Jaso” was held today in our center. Once again, the health situation and mobility limitations that came into force yesterday have forced a gala with a semi-presential character. Thanks to the realization and broadcasting of the event by teachers and students of the cycle of Telecommunications, all diocesan centers participating in the competition have been able to connect telematically and receive, albeit virtually, their prizes.
The gala, presented by Javier Onaindia, director of the diocesan radio stations, Radio Popular-Herri Irratia and Bizkaia Irratia, was presided over by the apostolic administrator, Mons. Mario Iceta, and we were able to see and hear the representatives of the winning schools, who intervened telematically from their respective centers.
The center that has achieved the first prize in this edition has been Avellaneda Ikastetxea, with the video ‘Hormek hitz egingo balute’. In addition to the prize for the best video clip, the best videos from each educational cycle have also been awarded. Thus, the prize for the best video clip, in Early Childhood Education, has gone to Maria Bitarteko Ikastetxea, from Elorrio. The Santa Eulalia school, in Santurtzi, has received the first prize, in Primary. In Secondary, the award went to Berakruz ikastola, from Markina. The best video of those presented among the students of Bachillerato was won by the Centro Formativo Somorrostro. The prize for the best use of Basque was awarded to San Fidel ikastola, from Gernika. The Begoñazpi ikastola, from Bilbao, has received the first prize in the interdisciplinary category. Finally, another of the prizes awarded is that of the most popular video, that has been for San Felix Ikastetxea, with 5,639 votes
.
The jury, composed of the member of the Cultural Entities Board and former Vicar General Ángel María Unzueta; the director of the University School of Education (BAM), Santiago Larrañaga and the member of the Diocese’s Media Department, Fernando Gorrotxategi, highlighted “the good level of the videos presented” and valued the “effort made to meet the deadline and to improve the sound quality”. This year, moreover, the diocesan Cultural Entities Board, which organized the contest, wanted to highlight the history of each center, also coinciding with the 70th anniversary of the birth of the Diocese. “In this sense, the contest has also served to let students know and spread in an entertaining way, the history of their own school and therefore, an important part of the life of the Church in Bizkaia“, said
