On 3 December, the CIFP Somorrostro hosted the 1st TKgune – Enkarterri regional collaboration session, a meeting attended by those responsible for the TKgune programme from different centres in the region, together with representatives from Tknika. The meeting aimed to strengthen the TKgune network, share experiences and continue to promote knowledge transfer between centres and companies.
The meeting was attended by Asier Lizarralde (Tknika), Iker de la Presa (San Viator – Tkgune Coordinator), Eduardo Flores (Maristas Zalla – Tkgune Coordinator), Tania Olivares (Salesianos Deusto – Tkgune Coordinator), as well as Sergio San Martín, Director of Innovation at Somorrostro, and Txomin Fernández, Tkgune Coordinator at our centre.
During the session, each centre presented its courses, technological resources, and areas of specialisation, promoting greater mutual understanding and the potential for new synergies. Projects in areas such as automotive and electromobility, additive manufacturing, 3D printing, energy efficiency, robotics and metrology, among others, were highlighted.
On behalf of Somorrostro, our colleague Txomin Fernández presented the centre’s wide range of courses, our available resources and some of the projects recently developed through the programme, such as Gosan, Saitec, TAG and E&M Combustion.
In addition, experiences from TKgune projects were shared, common questions about the first steps in managing companies were answered, and the opportunities offered by regional development agencies to promote innovation in SMEs and micro-SMEs were analysed.
One of the highlights was BeTEK Proiektua, an initiative promoted by the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa and Innobasque aimed at integrating technological innovation into small businesses through collaboration between development agencies, technology centres and vocational training. Its possible implementation in Bizkaia opens up a new avenue for joint work.
The session concluded with the definition of the next steps: sharing the TKgune catalogues of each centre and setting the next meetings of the regional network for March and April 2026.
A highly enriching meeting that strengthens collaboration between centres and consolidates TKgune’s role as a key tool for the two-way transfer of knowledge between vocational training and companies, promoting useful, accessible innovation with a real impact on the industrial fabric of the Basque Country.
