MÁSTER-HIDRÓGENO

48 new graduates in the 2nd year of the inter-university master’s degree in Hydrogen Technologies

This master’s degree is promoted and coordinated by 5 universities and 6 training and research centres, including the Somorrostro Training Centre. In the three editions of the master’s degree that have been launched so far, 190 professionals have been trained. The fourth edition will start on 18 October and can be taken 100% online.

A total of 48 people who have completed the 2nd promotion of the Inter-University Master’s Degree in Hydrogen Technologies have received their diplomas at the award ceremony that took place simultaneously at the different venues where the second edition of the programme was held: Bilbao, Barcelona, Tarragona and Zaragoza. The professionals who have taken this master’s degree have acquired innovative and cutting-edge knowledge in the field of hydrogen and its associated technologies, with special emphasis on generation, transport, storage and transformation, as well as the energy market.

Each student has developed a Final Master’s Degree project to respond to a challenge posed by a company. The various topics covered in these projects demonstrate the need for innovation and research to make this potential energy vector a reality in industry.

The 4th edition of the master’s degree will start on 18 October. As a novelty, it will be possible to take the course 100% online or attend the internships in person at the Bilbao or Barcelona centres. The programme is aimed at professionals interested in training in hydrogen technologies and their applications, such as project managers and technicians from companies that are introducing or plan to introduce hydrogen technologies in their products or services in the future, professionals from the industrial or technological sector interested in the potential of this new vector, or companies supplying the energy sector that want to prepare their technicians for the new sustainability challenges of the future.

This master’s degree is promoted and coordinated by 5 state universities: Mondragon Unibertsitatea, the leading university; the University of the Basque Country/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea, the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, the Universitat Rovira i Virgili and the University of Zaragoza. Six training and research centres are also participating: the Somorrostro Integrated Vocational Training Centre, the Comte de Rius Institute in Tarragona, the Escola del Treball Institute in Barcelona, the Pirámide Integrated Public Vocational Training Centre, the School of Industrial Organisation and the Aragon Hydrogen Foundation. It is supported by Repsol-Petronor.

This unprecedented collaboration of leading industrial, university and vocational training institutions seeks to balance university-trained engineering profiles with those coming from vocational training, thus accelerating the effective development of hydrogen technologies in industry.
