Today we held the 11th edition of the University Orientation Fair at the centre, an event that has become essential for our 2nd year Baccalaureate and 2nd year Higher Degree students to explore, compare and discover their options for the future.
More than 20 universities and schools from different regions set up stands to attend to more than 500 students. It was a very dynamic day in which information flowed in a direct, personalised and accessible manner.
Among the students, many ideas became clearer… and new ones emerged. As Naia, Paula and Alejandra, students in Year 12, told us, this fair has helped them to explore possibilities and rule out others:
👉 ‘I think it’s great, both for ruling out a degree you had in mind and then realising you don’t like the subjects… Or the other way around, for saying: hey, this degree interests me.’ ‘Sometimes you have two or three options, and you say: look, I’ll rule this one out. And you start to get used to the idea.’
They also particularly appreciated the stand format as opposed to traditional talks:
👉 ‘It’s more eye-catching and more enjoyable, it’s more like a one-to-one conversation.’ ‘They talk to you specifically about what you want. In the end, a talk is more general.’
They were clear about the attention they received from the universities: ‘Very pleasant. They gave us lots of data, brochures, information by email… That’s great, because then you can compare and get more details.’
The three of them are clear: their paths lie in the biomedical field. They want to study Pharmacy, Biochemistry, and Nursing.
Even so, they also suggested improvements for future editions: ‘We would have liked to see more public universities. From the UPV, only engineering was represented.’ Given the possibility that alumni might also come to share their experiences, they told us that ‘We would find it very interesting if former students who have been in their degree programmes for two or three years also came. Their experience from the inside is totally different.’
Universities such as Deusto, UPV/EHU, Mondragon Unibertsitatea, Universidad San Jorge, Digipen-Bilbao, BAM, among others, have been the protagonists of this space that combines guidance, inspiration and real opportunities for the future.
The University Orientation Fair reflects our commitment to comprehensive academic and professional guidance, enabling each student to make informed and confident decisions about their future path.
🙌 Many thanks to all the participating institutions for joining us once again on this journey towards the future of our students.
