The Somorrostro Training Centre today hosted a working day organised by Tknika, in which the directors and heads of innovation from more than 50 vocational training centres in the Basque Country took part. This meeting brought together representatives of public and subsidised centres from Bizkaia, Gipuzkoa and Alava with the aim of reflecting on the transfer and exploitation of innovation in educational centres.
During the conference, the participants discussed how innovative initiatives that arise in schools can be transferred and applied in different areas, generating an impact both internally (on methodologies, teaching staff and students) and externally (on companies, society and other schools). In order to achieve an effective transfer, it is essential to analyse where the innovation starts from, what resources exist and how to make the most of them.
The Somorrostro innovation model was the central theme of the session, with the participation of Sergio San Martín, innovation director, Andoni González, head of communication, and Vanessa Moreno, head of innovation routines and member of the innovation team. Through their presentations, they shared both the successes and lessons learned in the process of transferring innovative projects, highlighting the evolution that the centre has followed in this area.
To close the day, the attendees were taken on a guided tour of the Somorrostro campus, where they were able to learn first-hand about the history of the centre and its evolution, always faithful to its founding values. A tour that conveyed the spirit of an open centre that is integrated into its environment, a reflection of its commitment to innovation and continuous improvement.
This conference has been an excellent opportunity to continue making progress in the consolidation of the culture of innovation in Basque Vocational Training and to strengthen collaboration between centres in order to promote projects with a real impact on education and society.
