The Somorrostro Training Center has launched a new edition of the guidance project “Mejor te lo cuenta un alumni” (Better to hear it from an alumnus), an initiative that connects former students of the center with current 4th-year ESO students to accompany them in their decision-making process regarding their academic and professional future.
The course began with talks by Enara Tapia and Jon Koldo Ríos, both former secondary school and high school students at Somorrostro. Enara, a law graduate who is currently studying for the prison service bar exam, combines her studies with her great passion, dancing, which she has been doing since she was a child and now also teaches. She conveyed a very clear message to the students: “With good organization, you can combine everything: studies, hobbies, and social life, as long as you know how to prioritize at all times.”
For his part, Jon Koldo, a graduate in Primary Education, shared a very personal reflection on the process of personal and academic maturation. He spoke about how expectations change over time, how initial plans can be transformed, and that “all paths are valid if they help you grow and move toward what makes you happy.”
Now in its third year, this project has established itself as a key tool in the center’s guidance service. Through real-life testimonials from former students—who are now studying at university or pursuing careers in various fields—the program seeks to inspire, guide, and offer a realistic vision of the future to those who must make important decisions at the end of secondary school.
An initiative that demonstrates, once again, that in Somorrostro, guidance is built on closeness, experience, and values shared between generations.
