This year, our 1st ESO students are embarking on a new edition of the Inspira STEAM project, an initiative promoted by the University of Deusto that seeks to encourage interest in STEAM disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics), especially among girls.
The project is based on awareness and orientation sessions guided by professional mentors from the scientific and technological fields. This year we have a luxury team: 4 women engineers, 3 teachers from the center and the mother of a student who has already participated in the program in previous editions.
During six sessions, they will work with our students to:
- To provide close references of women scientists and technologists.
- To explore the world of STEAM professions.
- To reflect on diversity and the need for men and women to participate together in scientific and technological development.
- To make visible the role of women in these areas, both historically and today.
- To identify and break the stereotypes that often condition academic and professional decisions.
With this project, we reaffirm our commitment to gender equality, diversity and educational innovation, showing our students that the future of science and technology is open to everyone.
Inspira STEAM is much more than a program; it is a door to a world of possibilities, where equality and talent are the protagonists.
