The 2025/2026 academic year has already begun at the Somorrostro Training Center with more momentum than ever. This year we have around 2,200 students spread across 102 formal training groups: 18 in secondary education, 14 in upper secondary education, and 70 in vocational training (10 basic level, 20 intermediate level, 38 advanced level, and 2 specialization courses).
The figures speak for themselves: 410 students in secondary education, 368 in sixth form, and more than 1,400 in vocational training. A large educational community that is approaching this new academic year with enthusiasm, energy, and a commitment to continue growing together.
Among the most notable developments is the inauguration of the renovated Erquicia building, one of the most emblematic buildings in the center, which, following a modernization process, has been converted into an innovative space with special classrooms. Starting this academic year, it will house the Artificial Intelligence and Big Data and Industrial Maintenance Digitization specializations, as well as other higher education programs. Erquicia is set to become Muskiz’s future “energy hub,” a key space for the development of projects related to new energies.
With these additions, Somorrostro reinforces its commitment to innovation, quality training, and adapting to future challenges, consolidating its position as a benchmark in secondary education, high school, and vocational training in the Basque Country.
The 2025–2026 academic year thus begins, full of challenges and opportunities, with our sights set on accompanying our students in their academic, personal, and professional development.
