Mechatronics Engineering students from Mondragon University return to Somorrostro for their Mechanical Technology practices

As every year since the beginning of the collaboration between Centro Formación Somorrostro and Mondragon University in the 2020/21 academic year, 1st and 2nd year students of the Bachelor’s Degree in Mechatronics Engineering have begun their practical training in Mechanical Technology at our facilities.

This subject, which is part of the engineering curriculum, is taught by Somorrostro faculty and covers three fundamental areas of technical training: Fluids, Metrology, and Materials. During these sessions, students work with professional equipment and apply concepts learned at the university in a real-world, practical context.

In addition, starting in February, the second-year group will be at the center every day throughout the semester, in a joint training model involving faculty from both Somorrostro and Mondragon University. This formula allows for close supervision and a stronger link between theoretical learning and applied practice.

The collaboration between the two entities has become a fully consolidated project, active in several courses and levels, offering students trained at Somorrostro the opportunity to continue their academic journey until they obtain an official engineering degree in a field that is in high demand by companies in our area.
