Somorrostro Training Center has delivered today 7 computers to Caritas Bizkaia, in an act that symbolizes the commitment of the center to technical training and social responsibility. The delivery was made by Javier Laiseca, director of Somorrostro, to Carmelo Corada, head of the “Empresas con Corazón” program of Caritas.
This donation is the direct result of the participation of our students in the 1st year of the Microcomputer and Network Systems (SMR2) in the AWS Tech Talent Arena 2025 challenge, in which they have collaborated with 60 students from the Salesianos and San Valero centers in Zaragoza.
The project, promoted by Amazon Web Services (AWS), CaixaBank Dualiza and FP Empresa, and supported by technology companies such as GFT Technologies, Digital Hand Made and EON Transformación, seeks to enhance the technical skills of students through real challenges. The process culminated on May 29th with a great “Technological Gymkana” held in Zaragoza.
Since February, the participating students have been immersed in training sessions that have allowed them to apply in practice the knowledge acquired in the classroom and to face real tests in the technology sector. In addition to the development of technical skills, the project promotes values such as collaboration and social responsibility, through cooperation with non-profit organizations such as Caritas Bizkaia.
With initiatives like this, Somorrostro and the other participating centers reinforce their commitment to the training of young talent, employability and the construction of a fairer and more caring society.
