LAN BERRI 2025: Somorrostro promotes youth employability in Bizkaia

On Tuesday, September 23, the fifth edition of the Lan Berri program kicked off at our center. Promoted by the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, Somorrostro participates in this program alongside HETEL, an association that brings together 33 subsidized vocational training centers in the Basque Country.

The objective of this program is clear: to promote the employment of young people up to the age of 30 who have completed their vocational training, providing them with tools, support, and opportunities to enter the job market.

In this edition, 12 participants—from higher education programs such as Administration and Finance, Marketing and Advertising, Education, and Environmental Chemistry, among others—began the project presentation session on September 23. From there, they will follow a program that combines individual guidance, group sessions, and training in key skills, with the goal of preparing them to successfully face their first job interviews within one to two months.

The program is structured in three phases:

  • Career guidance: individualized assessment, profiling, and personalized career path design.
  • Training: development of digital, technical, and equality skills.
  • Job placement: meetings with companies, prospecting, and identifying job offers.

Experience backs up the impact of Lan Berri. In its four previous editions, the employability rate achieved ranged from 80% to 100%, figures that demonstrate the effectiveness of a project that has established itself as a fundamental tool for making the leap from training to employment.

In the words of its promoters, Lan Berri “not only offers guidance and training resources, but also the confidence and support necessary for each participant to build their future career with greater guarantees.”

With this program, Somorrostro reaffirms its commitment to youth employability and its collaboration with institutions and associations to open paths that connect vocational training with the real job market.
