MÁSTER-HIDRÓGENO

The 2nd year Mechatronics Engineering students conclude their time in Somorrostro with the defense of their PBL project.

The second-year students of the Degree in Mechatronics Engineering, a degree taught by Mondragon Unibertsitatea in collaboration with the Somorrostro Training Center, have closed their training stage in our center with the final presentation of the POPBL (Problem-Oriented Project-Based Learning) project, an integrative proposal that puts into practice everything they have learned during the semester.

For more than a month, from May 9 to June 18, the students worked on the redesign, manufacture and fine-tuning of a vehicle lifting garage. Starting from the conceptual design made in the first semester, they have turned their ideas into a real and functional machine, strictly complying with the established technical, mechanical, electrical, automation and safety requirements.

The project has covered multiple dimensions:

  • Mechanical design and development: review of 3D and 2D drawings, definition of materials, process sheet, assembly solutions and redesign based on the problems encountered.
  • Automation and control: wiring and programming of electrical diagrams, drive configuration, commissioning, motion control and safety measures.
  • Legislation and risk analysis: assessment according to RD1644/2008, ISO standards, safety function design, calculation of PLr and preparation of the instruction manual.

This final project symbolizes not only the closing of an academic stage, but also the consolidation of a pedagogical methodology that connects with the industrial reality and prepares students for their professional future.

From Somorrostro Training Center we congratulate the whole group for their effort, dedication and the quality of the work presented. Zorionak!
